Women's Self-Defense Classes Boston

Next Seminar: Preventing Rape & Sexual Assault
Sunday February 2nd, 2025, 9:30-11:00am
(Register Using The Form Below)

The SEPS (Situation Effective Protection System) Women’s Self-Defense Boston program uses a blended learning approach (Online and In-Person training) to teach its material. The complete program addresses the following personal safety issues:

1. Preventing Rape and Sexual Assault
2. The Effective use of Pepper Spray
3. Identifying Potentially Abusive Partners
4. Dealing with Stalkers & Harassment Campaigns

Whilst men can also be the target and victims involving these particular offenses and can also benefit from learning how to effectively use pepper spray, women are predominantly the targets for these types of aggressive behaviors and violence. Using an evidential and research-based approach, which is constantly updated the SEPS Women’s Self-Defense Program looks to address these offenses/issues using a scientifically based approach i.e., using what has been proven to consistently work across all contexts, rather than something that may have worked once in a specific context/scenario (this usually occurs when a solution is derived from one person’s experience of violence, and whilst experience has its place when looking at solutions to violence it is limited to a sample size of one).

The online course material for these modules is contained on this site, however if you are looking to attend one of our free in-person classes you can use the form below to register. If the form is showing that the next class/seminar is closed it is because all available spaces have been taken – if this is the case, you can sign up for our newsletter which will inform you when the next class/seminar is scheduled, by clicking here.

N.B. If you are a therapist working with a client who is overcoming a traumatic experience, involving violence, our program is very unlikely to be appropriate for them until they have made a complete recovery, and we would ask that before you recommend it to them, you attend yourself, so that you fully understand how we conduct our training.

The seminar is completely free, however, pre-booking it is required. Each attendee will need to book with their own email address, so please do not try and book for yourself and a friend using the same email address. To register please use the form below. Unfortunately, we cannot offer child care, and neither can children be left in our space unattended or brought along to watch.

This free program is intended to serve individual members of the larger Boston and Massachusetts communities, and does not exist for companies, clubs and organizations to use as a means to providing training for their employees and members – if such organizations and enterprises are interested in such self-protection and/or self-defense training, please click here.

This seminar has a minimum age of fifteen, however for women who are under 18, a guardian will need to fill out a form for them (this is not the form that is displayed below). This form can be accessed by clicking here.

This seminar will take place at:
